Single Storey Extensions

We can provide design services for single storey extensions including the calculations and drawing package for submission to Building Control.

Collaborating with your Architect to ensure the vision for the space can be achieved with material and cost efficiencies in mind.

We can offer ongoing support throughout the construction process with regular site visits to assess the quality of the construction of the structural elements.

Multi-storey Extensions

We can provide design services for multi storey extensions including the calculations and drawing package for submission to Building Control.

Our design process involves leasing with the client and Architect to ensure the structural solution is cohesive with the wider teams design intent.

Refurbishment and Alterations to Existing Buildings

With extensive experience of refurbishment projects with historic and/or dilapidated buildings we can provide design services to ensure the future performance of the structure.

Retaining Wall Design

We utilise a wide range of materials for the design of retaining walls depending on the situation, from reinforced concrete retaining walls through to softer solutions including reinforced soil banks to achieve the level changes desired.

New build structures

With extensive experience designing bespoke homes across the southwest we provide structural engineering design services including undertaking the design calculations and drawings for Building Control and to provide the critical structural information required to construct your project.

Construction Quality Inspections

We can offer regular inspections to ensure the construction is in compliance with our designs, typically undertaken on either a bi-weekly basis through the key structural phases or by notification. We provide reports following each visit highlighting progress, any defects observed and recording the remediation of any previously highlighted defects.

Cracking / Subsidence Inspections and Reporting

No strangers to cracking in masonry, we know that seeing cracks developing in masonry can be concerning. The causes can be numerous, but we can interpret the cracks to assess the likely causes and make recommendations for both how to address the cause of the cracking in masonry and specify remediation works to be undertaken on the masonry to ensure long term performance of masonry walls.

Structural Engineering Reports / Condition Reports

We have extensive experience undertaking structural inspection reports on structures. Often these are undertaken to accompany Class Q applications, but we also offer a range of structural engineering inspections for different purposes, whether a concern has been raised when purchasing a property, or prior to undertaking an extensive renovation we can highlight areas of structural concern and methods of remediation.

Structural Element Design

Nothing too big, but more importantly there is also no project too small. We offer design services for simple beams to facilitate openings in existing load bearing walls, or any other structural element designs required.

Loft Conversions

Loft conversions can be complex, both the layout and structural performance need to be carefully considered. We offer early stage inspections to inform your Architect on the structural limitations of the existing roof form, as well as full detailed design to inform the construction.

Load Capacity Assessments

With installations of PV panels becoming more prevalent we offer an inspection and calculation package to assess the spare capacity in your roof structure to support PV panels. This is sued to determine the density and quantity of panels feasible for your existing roof. We can also offer remediation designs to strengthen your roof to support a greater quantity of PV panels.

We also offer load capacity assessments for all types of floors, from commercial units looking to install racking through to timber floors proposed for a change of use.
